Support carers as a volunteer or with donations.

There are many ways to support our work with carers. You can make a one off donation, become a regular donor or run your own fundraising campaigns. You can volunteer your time with us to work behind the scenes or with carers directly. Volunteering areas include administration; befriending/mentoring carers; fundraising; sessional work; helping with events, activities or marketing. This is not an exhaustive list, volunteer roles are discussed and agreed upon to suit the needs of all involved.

Our donors and fundraisers are of all ages and we are constantly amazed by their dedication and ingenuity. Incredibly, 9 and 10 year old pupils at Eversfield Preparatory School got creative and took on the Fantastic Fiver Charity Challenge raising over £5,000 to help carers. Each child was given £5 each and over the course of the six-week challenge used their own business ideas to raise as much money as they could to help young carers in Solihull. Their hard work & creativity is an inspiration.

Your donation will go towards improving the lives of carers. All of our services are free for unpaid carers, therefore donations go towards activities, events and printed materials or resources for carers.

Even though we are primarily funded by SMBC, those funds are for specific aspects of our service and that is decided by SMBC. Additional funding allows us the flexibility to respond to unpaid carers needs, and be able to provide additional support and resources.

You can ask for some feedback, also our annual report will show our income and expenditure for the year.

We are commissioned and primarily funded by Solihull Council, to provide both statutory and non-statutory services for unpaid carers. This includes carrying out Carer's Assessments, creating personalised support plans, and offering emotional support, training, peer groups, and respite opportunities. Our partnership is part of Solihull’s wider Carers Strategy, ensuring unpaid carers are identified early, supported effectively, and recognised as vital to the health and care system of the borough.

Solihull's Here2Help initiative provides vital support to residents, including unpaid carers, through collaboration with organisations like Carers Trust Solihull. It funds services such as Carers Assessments, personalised support plans, and guidance on financial benefits. The initiative also helps carers with emergency planning and accessing financial support, ensuring they receive the resources and assistance needed to manage their responsibilities and well-being effectively.
UB Healthcare is proudly supporting Carers Trust Solihull as their charity of the year, and we’re delighted to be working in partnership to support unpaid carers across the borough. Together, we’re delivering tailored training, promoting carer-friendly workplaces through the “Hidden Carer” campaign, and raising vital funds—most recently through their generous sponsorship of our Carers Week walk. Their commitment is helping us raise awareness, reach more carers, and provide the support they need to feel recognised, valued, and equipped in their roles.
Sydney Mitchell have become loyal and dedicated friends to us. They have constantly donated their time and expertise in legal matters that are crucial to our unpaid carers; hosting and running workshops on Wills, Power of Attorney and Continuing Healthcare - not to mention discussing these topics in-depth on our podcast, 'Carers Talk'. They are visible and helpful at all our events, such as Carer's Rights Day Information Events, as well as independently raising awareness and donations throughout the borough, for our carers.

The beautiful grounds of Blossomfield Rose Care Home have graciously opened their doors to our carer's events and activities. If you've ever joined us for a relaxation day or meet-up, you'll know that nothing is too big or too small for the amazing and supportive staff of Blossomfield Rose. A lot of our events are made better because of the Macc Care and Blossomfield Rose.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of Lions Clubs International and Balsall Common Lions. Through their generous funding, they help us provide vital services and initiatives for unpaid carers. Lions Clubs International contribute to local projects that benefit carers, while Balsall Common Lions have funded special events, like a Christmas celebration for young carers, ensuring they feel recognised and appreciated. Their ongoing support makes a real difference to the lives of carers and their families in our community.
JLR has been a steadfast supporter of young carers in Solihull, providing generous donations and fundraising. On Young Carers Action Day 2024, they donated £10,000 and a Land Rover Discovery, enabling young carers without transport to attend our events. JLR’s ongoing support, including through the Employee Charity Fund, ensures young carers access vital support, feel valued, and stay connected. We’re truly grateful for JLR’s continued generosity and positive impact on young carers in Solihull.
