Session outline:
Caring for someone with dementia can be challenging in many ways. For many people it can feel very isolating, and many caring can feel invisible. In this event we are looking to support carers who are looking after someone with dementia by both helping to understand its challenges, and ways of managing them, as well as connecting and giving people the chance to talk and reduce feelings of loneliness.
In this workshop we will be:
Exploring our understanding of dementia
* Considering the everyday challenges and ways of supporting the person and yourselves
* Giving you the chance to connect with each other and time to share your experiences
* Offering the chance to talk to experienced dementia professionals in the group or 1:1 in a safe space
* Explore what is available in your area and ways of accessing ongoing support
