Continuity for Unpaid Carers: Carers Trust Solihull Awarded All-Age Carers Contract for Solihull
After a lengthy and competitive process, Carers Trust Solihull are proud to announce we have once again been awarded the all-age carer support service contract for the Solihull area. The new contract will begin on 1st December and run for a minimum of five years, with the option to extend for a further four years.
Strengthening Support for Unpaid Carers
Brandon Scott-Omenka, CEO of Carers Trust Solihull, shared his excitement for securing the new contract: “We are thrilled to have won this competitive tender, ensuring the future of our essential local charity at a time when many services in the country are facing uncertainty.”
Councillor Tony Dicicco, the Council’s cabinet member for adult social care and health, welcomed the continuity of care through this long-standing partnership: “Carers Trust Solihull will support people in areas they identify as being important, allowing them to look after their own physical and mental wellbeing, continue to care and have a life outside of caring. We want carers of all ages in Solihull to be able to say: ‘I can maintain good quality of life due to the support I receive from the Council.’ “
He continued: “The new service will put more focus on providing support closer to where people live and will help unpaid carers to build resilience. These areas were identified as important by carers who took part in engagement activities to design the new service.”
Continued Partnership with Solihull Council
Leader of the Council and cabinet member for Children’s Services, Councillor Karen Grinsell explained: “Carers Trust Solihull will support people in areas they identify as being important, allowing them to look after their own physical and mental wellbeing, continue to care and have a life outside of caring. We want carers of all ages in Solihull to be able to say: ‘I can maintain good quality of life due to the support I receive from the Council.’ “
Brandon, looking ahead at the continued support from Carers Trust Solihull, exclaimed: “Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to serving those who care for their loved ones in the community. CTS will continue to adapt its services to support carers of all ages and backgrounds, embracing the opportunities presented by AI and actively listening to feedback from carers on how and what we can improve.”
“In partnership with Solihull Council, as well as other essential services, charities, and local businesses, CTS will play a vital role in connecting carers to their community and wider support networks. Our goal remains to make Solihull a truly carer-friendly borough.”
We are proud to be able to say that should you or anyone you know have caring responsibilities, you can continue to refer to Carers Trust Solihull for dedicated support.
