Quizzing & caring as Sydney Mitchell and Carers Trust Solihull combine forces to create a quiz night, to raise funds for unpaid carers of Solihull.

Midland’s law firm Sydney Mitchell continues to raise funds for Carers Trust Solihull, as one of its 2025 chosen charities of the year.

We will share the total funds raised by Sydney Mitchell throughout 2025, from a programme of fundraising events and activities including the flagship Charity Quiz and the Sydney Mitchell Charity Ball being held on 10th October, at the British Motor Cycle Museum, Birmingham.

On 2nd April Sydney Mitchell Solicitors, in collaboration with Carers Trust Solihull, hosted a thrilling charity quiz night that exceeded all expectations! We ventured outside our usual stomping ground to 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham, demonstrating our commitment to expanding our reach and raising vital awareness for this incredible cause.

The atmosphere was electric as 76 eager participants formed 19 competitive teams, all vying for the coveted top spot. The intellectual battle was fierce, but ultimately, ‘Never Gonna Quiz You Up’ emerged victorious, each member taking home a celebratory bottle of prosecco. Following closely behind, ‘Partners Wealth Management’ secured second place with a selection of fine wines, and ‘Final Resting Place’ claimed third, receiving a collection of chocolates.

The true victory of the night, however, was the incredible £2,762 raised! This phenomenal amount is a testament to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who attended.

Brandon Scott-Omenka, Chief Executive Office of Carers Trust Solihull, expressed his gratitude; “We are grateful for the ongoing support, sponsorship and partnership with Sydney Mitchell. This collaboration has truly made a lasting impact on the lives of unpaid carers across our community.”

The raffle was a huge hit, offering a range of fantastic prizes that added to the excitement. Lucky winners walked away with:

  • Two highly sought-after tickets to Silverstone.
  • A luxurious Marks & Spencer food hamper.
  • A room for hire with up to five guests being catered to.
  • A comprehensive six-week personal training program from My Body Fit.
  • A selection of indulgent beauty and skin treatments.

The evening was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a genuine sense of community, and inspiring to see everyone come together to support Carers Trust Solihull.

Karen Moores, Senior Partner of Sydney Mitchell, said “Sydney Mitchell are delighted to be able to support Solihull Carer’s Trust. It’s an incredible local charity, providing vital emotional and physical support for local carers in the community and their families.”

For nearly a decade, many carers have benefited from Sydney Mitchell’s free, high-quality, and popular training workshops on vital parts of the law for carers and over the last couple of years through their generosity, time, and continued commitment, they have played a pivotal role in helping us deliver more services and support to those caring for a loved one.

Sydney Mitchell has consistently committed to supporting Solihull’s carers, from sponsoring our annual charity quiz nights to actively engaging with our fundraising and awareness events. Their contributions have helped Carer’s Trust Solihull grow and develop services that provide emotional, practical, financial and generic advice and assistance to carers—many of whom would otherwise face the daily challenges of caring in isolation.

Thanks to this partnership, we have expanded our outreach, hosted more well-being activities, and provided targeted one-to-one support for carers during critical moments in their caring journey. Their involvement has helped us bring light into the lives of so many who often feel unseen”.
