Persimmon Homes supports young carers with £5,000!

This significant contribution from Persimmon Homes will directly support our Peer Mentoring and Befriending service for young carers in school. The generous donation will enable us to continue and expand our Peer Mentoring and Befriending activities program for the next 12 months!

Peer Mentors and Befrienders play a vital role in supporting young carers by sharing their own caring experiences and offering guidance. They understand the unique challenges faced by young carers, such as balancing caring responsibilities with school, friendships, and social life. They know first-hand how isolation can impact mental and physical health.

Many young carers have benefited from having a mentor during their time as a young carer. By sharing their journey, our mentors and befrienders can help other young carers learn coping mechanisms, manage their responsibilities, and navigate the difficult times. Mentors and Befrienders have the lived experience and empathy needed to make a real difference in the lives of these young people.

So, it goes without saying just how important this program is to all our young carers, and why this incredible donation from Persimmon Homes means so much to so many.

THANK YOU to the wonderful team at Persimmon Homes.
