Definitions of 'Level of Care'

No Care – Does not provide any caring tasks for the person with care needs.

Occasional Care – Provides caring tasks now and again and can achieve a life for themselves around caring.

Frequent Care – Often provides caring tasks but is mostly unable to achieve a life for themselves due to caring.

Persistent Care – Provides caring tasks all the time and is unable to achieve a life for themselves due to caring.

Definitions of 'Impact of Care'

No Impact – Child/young person can sustain all parts of caring and support is in place to prevent things deteriorating. Has a healthy life balance and can access education and manage emotional, physical, and social wellbeing without intervention.

Mild Impact – Child/young person can sustain most parts of caring and has access to support to prevent things getting worse. Has a healthy life balance and can mostly access education and manage emotional, physical, or social wellbeing without intervention, due to caring or the impact of the cared-for condition.

Moderate Impact – Child/young person cannot sustain some parts of caring and needs support to prevent things getting worse. A healthy life balance is hard to achieve, and they cannot manage some parts of education or emotional, physical, or social wellbeing without intervention, due to caring or the impact of the cared-for condition.

Significant Impact – Child/young person cannot sustain the caring role without intervention from our or other services. They do not have a healthy life balance and are unable to manage education or emotional, physical, or social wellbeing without intervention, due to caring or the impact of the cared-for condition.
