Young Carer of the Year 2022

Rebecca Wall was presented with the Young Carer of the Year Dave Henry Award

Rebecca received the award, sponsored by Rotary Club of Solihull St Alphege at our first ever Charity Ball and Carer Friendly Awards in June.

Rebecca Wall gives up her time to be a Peer Mentor for the Carers Trust. Regularly giving up her time, she provides support to young carers in the group and gives us valuable feedback on the service and ideas for improvements. She is a brilliant voice for young people.

The Dave Henry Award

Annual Camping Trip

This award is presented in honour of Dave Henry, a dedicated member of Rotary St Alphege.

He was a devoted fundraiser and champion of young carers for 7 years before he passed away in January 2021. His passion to achieve a quality of life for young carers and his drive to make things happen stood out.

He reached out, spoke out, showed up, joined in and asked for nothing in return but the happiness of others – and what was in his heart is at the centre of what all young carers do – to give, and care – selflessly about others. His qualities are what are reflected in the outstanding individual who receives this award.
