Purpose of the Role
-
As a Team Admin Support Volunteer, you will provide essential administrative support to the Young Carers Team, helping ensure that staff can focus their time and expertise on delivering direct support to young carers aged 5–25.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organised, structured tasks, takes pride in accuracy and detail, and feels confident working independently once trained. Your contribution will make a real difference by improving efficiency, freeing up specialist staff, and helping our team reach and support more young carers across Solihull.
Key Roles and Responsibilities

Prepare and compile bulk letters and other correspondence for posting.

Assemble information packs for outreach and awareness-raising activities.

Replenish paperwork and resources in the office as needed.

Assist with whole-team purchasing, tracking items and supplies.

Carry out data entry using our simple database systems.

Conduct data cleansing on our data management system to maintain accuracy.

Support temporary admin projects, such as the annual bus pass scheme.

Replenish and organise the team resource library.

Make phone calls to families to confirm information or appointments.

Undertake other reasonable tasks as discussed and agreed with your supervisor.
Preferred Skills and Qualities

Highly organised and able to multi-task effectively.

At least two years of administrative experience in a work or voluntary setting.

Good planning and prioritisation skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems.

Quick to learn new IT systems and processes.

Reliable, conscientious, and detail-oriented.

Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
