Young Carers Befrienders

Life as a young carer can be lonely it can often feel isolated, carers have very little time to undertake recreational activities or make new friends. You will play an important role in befriending, improving good mental wellbeing, building confidence and self-esteem, supporting either in a 1 to 1 or group setting. We are looking for volunteers that can spend an hour or two after school or at weekends, meeting and chatting to a young carer or groups of young carers. You can take part in some fun activities or just go and chill out at a coffee shop. You will be there to listen to the effects that caring is having on the young carer and encourage independence and openness to talk about their feelings.
