Dementia Carers Count Launches "We See You" Campaign to Address Carer Invisibility

This September, Dementia Carers Count has launched its pioneering “We See You” campaign – the charity’s first major advertising initiative designed to bring dementia carers into the public eye. The national charity is addressing a critical issue: dementia carers often feel invisible, isolated, and overlooked within society.

The campaign shines a light on the reality that many unpaid carers supporting people with dementia struggle to gain recognition and visibility within their communities. Through this initiative, Dementia Carers Count aims to reassure carers that their vital role is recognised, valued, and acknowledged.

TheWe See You” campaign has gained substantial support from the JCDecaux Community Channel, which is providing national coverage through digital Out-of-Home advertising sites across the United Kingdom. This partnership allows the campaign’s message to be shared widely, featuring across high-visibility digital displays in busy public areas.

As a specialist charity dedicated to supporting dementia carers through advocacy and campaigning, Dementia Carers Count offers a wide range of services. These include one-to-one confidential guidance, specialist support through advocacy and counselling, as well as online peer support groups that connect carers facing similar challenges. The organisation stands by its mission that no carer should ever feel isolated, unseen, or unsupported in their caring role.

At Carers Trust Solihull, we have long provided support for carers providing support for those with dementia, and have both supported and been supported by Dementia Carers Count — a relationship we hope that continues to grow.

In episode 7 of our podcast, Carers Talk (learn more here) we were lucky enough to Katie from Dementia Carers Count to come on as a guest. Katie shared her wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as the support and guidance that can be offered by their service. We highly recommend you listen to that episode, should be a carer for someone with dementia – we’re certain you’ll find some helpful advice. Click here to watch on YouTube.

Don’t forget to download a free copy of our latest (October 2025 – January 2026) Adult Carer Newsletter for information on our dementia workshops, which cover different types of dementia, common symptoms, and
the seven phases of the condition. As well as practical advice so you can better care and support someone with dementia. It is also a chance for you to join other carers who are going through what you’re going through, to share your stories, tips and advice, but also to feel a connection when in a situation that can feel isolating.

We hold regular dementia workshops, one upcoming on Thursday 30th October 2025, so check out our newsletter to stay up to date, and to learn how you can join us at this workshop and other events and activities we have planned

The “We See You” campaign marks an important step forward in raising awareness of the experiences of the millions of people across the UK who provide unpaid care for family members and friends living with dementia.
