Purpose of the Role

  • As an Adult Carers Team Manager Admin Support Volunteer, you will play an important part in helping the Team Manager of the Adult Carers service manage their workload and focus on supporting the team to deliver excellent care and opportunities for adult carers across Solihull.

    You will be trained and equipped to complete a range of routine administrative tasks, working independently once shown what to do, with continued guidance and support. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys organisation, detail, and structure — and who wants to contribute to improving the support we offer to adult carers in our community.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Help prepare for team meetings, including booking supervisions and basic minute-taking.
  • Track and distribute training information through our simple database system.
  • Support the administrative side of payroll, purchasing, and reporting.
  • Obtain quotes for goods or services as requested.
  • Upload and organise documents on our database and shared systems.
  • Perform data entry using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Complete forms and templates with information provided by the team.
  • Conduct staff driving licence and insurance checks.
  • Collate and summarise data such as surveys or evaluation results.
  • Scan, photocopy, and compile paperwork as required.
  • Undertake other administrative tasks as discussed and agreed with your supervisor.

Preferred Skills and Qualities

  • At least two years’ administrative experience in a work or voluntary setting.
  • Confident to work independently, with guidance available when needed.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic databases.
  • Quick to learn new IT systems and software.
  • Highly organised, reliable, and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conscientious and a supportive team player.
  • Passionate about contributing to a high-quality service for adult carers.

Additional Notes / Special Requirements

  • Preferred working day: Wednesday (flexible if needed).
  • Training and supervision provided.
  • An enhanced DBS check and references are required before starting.
  • Travel expenses reimbursed in line with Carers Trust Solihull’s volunteer policy.
