We are a small charity supporting local people who care for their loved ones at home. We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, award-winning organisation to make a difference to the lives of family carers of all ages living in Solihull. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced person to join our friendly team as a Young Carers Events and Activities Coordinator.

Hours: 22.5 per week hours plus opportunity for additional hours

Permanent Contract Salary: £24,006 to £25,173 (pro-rata) subject to review on completion of satisfactory probation period of 6 months.

We are looking for someone experienced in working with children and young adults who has a high level of IT literacy, an excellent communicator with strong planning and organisation skills to coordinate the activities programme which exists to give young and young adult carers a break from their caring responsibilities. You will be understanding and sensitive to carers issues and have a willingness to learn more about the responsibilities of unpaid carers across the borough.

You will organise activities and co-ordinate sessional workers to ensure safe delivery of every event. This involves devising a 12-month rolling programme of young carers clubs, days out, and more, which you will promote to registered carers, and includes taking a lead role in arranging annual events to acknowledge national carers campaigns. An element of evening and weekend will be required, and it is essential that you are a driver with a full license held for a minimum of 2 years.

In addition to the coordination role, there is the opportunity to supplement the standard 22.5 hours per week by undertaking sessional work to assist in facilitating and delivering club and activity sessions over the year.
